UK PM Promises Control Back While 50K Refugees Throw Massive Ceuta Pool Party

KEY POINTS

  • Andy Burnham pledged to be 'relentless' against small boat crossings during a visit to Dover.
  • Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez assured that 98% of approximately 50,000 people who crossed into Ceuta last week were returned to Morocco.
  • Burnham said that safe routes for refugees are necessary to fight trafficking gangs amid rising migrant arrivals.

On a spectacularly serious visit to Dover, Prime Minister Andy Burnham vowed a 'relentless' crackdown on the petite floaty army known as small boat migrants. This comes after a mind-boggling 50,000 ambitious travelers auditioned for a guest spot in Spain’s tiny North African territory, Ceuta, just last week. Pedro Sánchez, Spanish PM and probably the least popular party host this summer, confirmed 98% of these ambitious explorers have been politely repatriated to Morocco — like an overbooked hotel asking guests to leave politely but firmly. Meanwhile, Burnham insisted 'bringing back control' is crucial but also insisted 'safe routes' must exist, which sounds like ordering a strict bouncer who also manages the guest list politely. Navigating migration like a very awkward family reunion, indeed.
