Move over, alcohol — Gen Z is transforming fast-food menus into a bizarre beverage battle royale. Chains like McDonald’s, Starbucks, and Taco Bell are cashing in on the demand for customizable, cold drinks with neon colors and flavors so wild they’d make grandma gag. Think 'pickle-flavored slushies' and 'sodas with dried fruit on the bottom.' According to Michael Della Penna, 'The crazier, the better,' because Gen Z wants their drinks as eye-catching as their TikTok feeds. With McDonald’s eyeing a $100 billion slushie throne, it’s clear the new battlefield is ice-cold and syrupy.
