Disney Buys NFL, Because Who Needs Competition Anyway?

In a power move that screams late-stage capitalism, Disney’s ESPN is now gobbling up the NFL Network and RedZone, getting a 10% equity snack in exchange. This means ESPN will have 28 NFL games per season, up from 22, plus fantasy football with 'NFL Fantasy' merged in for extra fan-frenzy. Disney CEO Bob Iger called it 'expand[ing] the breadth and value proposition' of their streaming empire, while Roger Goodell promised ‘more NFL football for more fans in new and innovative ways.’ Translation: buy Disney+, get an NFL takeover, because who doesn’t want their sports with a side of corporate monopoly?
