Lucid Motors, under new CEO Silvio Napoli since June, candidly admitted this week it 'launched products before they were ready,' which might explain why their luxury EVs–the Air sedan and Gravity SUV–have more software bugs than features. After racking up more than a billion-dollar loss last quarter, Lucid pushed its $50,000 Cosmos midsize SUV debut from 2026 to late 2027, citing 'quality gates' nobody’s quite sure how they differ from last time. Meanwhile, Lucid’s laid off 30% of its workforce in 2026 and dropped the COO role, hoping all this chaos will somehow translate into 'a deep transformation.' Oh, and despite bankruptcy rumors, the Saudis' $3 billion bailout fund still glows faintly in the coffers.
