General Motors, the proud parent of the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500, plans to upgrade its truck interfaces in 2027 with software so snazzy it might almost make you forget about dangerously swiping between menus like it’s 2010. After years of digital faceplants and finger cramps, GM gracefully admits maybe forcing drivers to juggle tiny buttons mid-road trip isn’t ideal. Oh, and despite its previous electric-vehicle phone-mirroring cold shoulder, GM is now giving Apple CarPlay and Android Auto shiny picture-in-picture displays, like a tech-flirting teenager suddenly admitting they love phone screens. Expect slick graphics and animated transitions that hopefully distract you less than your own playlist.
