NYC Elects Socialist Millennial Mayor, Billionaires Livid

In what's basically a political episode of 'David vs. Goliath, but David is 34 and rocking free buses,' Zohran Mamdani snagged NYC's mayoral crown with 50% of the vote, crushing Andrew Cuomo at 41.4% and Curtis Sliwa's 7.7%. Mamdani’s campaign promised free childcare, rent freezes, and no-cost buses—yes, public transit without the usual guilt trip. Billionaires from Mike Bloomberg to Bill Ackman poured millions into backing Cuomo, who also conveniently got last-minute Trump and Elon Musk endorsements, the very duo who basically screamed 'Vote Cuomo!' via social media as though they were trying out cosplay as campaign managers. Over a million New Yorkers voted for Mamdani—the first time since John Lindsay in 1969, proving nostalgia really does sell. Despite billionaires warning of an economic Armageddon fueled by tax hikes and threats to flee the city (looking at you, Catsimatidis ready to flee to Jersey), even Wall Street back-office staff love him—because apparently, it's hard to code or HR when your rent looks like a mortgage. Jamie Dimon resigned himself to coexistence with the socialistic mayor-to-be, basically saying 'life's tough, now let’s negotiate peace terms.' So, in sum, the city just handed the keys to a 34-year-old democratic socialist who believes billionaires shouldn’t exist—call it voluntary chaos in the Big Apple.
