Republicans Officially Declare 'Christian Nationalism' Their Party’s Patreon

KEY POINTS

  • A 2025 survey found 56% of Republicans identify as Christian nationalism adherents or sympathizers nationwide.
  • Arkansas and Oklahoma, with 80% GOP legislature control, showed highest Christian nationalist support while blue states registered under 22%.
  • Christian nationalists largely align with Trump favorability and support hardened immigration policies, according to PRRI's data.

In a dazzlingly unsurprising 2025 survey by PRRI, a staggering 56% of Republicans are now proudly waving the Christian nationalism flag, while 25% of independents awkwardly cheer from the sidelines and a shrinking 17% of Democrats wonder if they accidentally walked into the wrong party. According to public religion mayhem head Robert P. Jones, large swaths believe America was founded as a white European Christian Promised Land—that’s Texas-sized delusions one-faith-to-rule-them-all edition. GOP superstates like Arkansas and Oklahoma, where Republican lawmakers hold an 80% monopoly, top the charts in Christian nationalism love, while blue havens like California languish in the 20% range. Bonus points for 67% of these zealots believing immigrants are culturally invading, 61% supporting deportation without due process, and 73% thinking Trump is a superhero stuck in a world that calls him a dictator. The 22,111-person survey stretched from February to December 2025, sporting a razor-thin margin of error ±0.87%. The question remains: Is America becoming a Walmart of theocratic, male-led boardrooms or just perfecting its cosplay of a 17th century prayer meeting gone corporate?
