ICE: Breaking Car Windows and Records Since 2025

Under Trump’s watch, ICE officers turned smashing car windows into a national sport with nearly 50 incidents in six months compared to just eight in the previous decade. Maryland official Matthew Elliston threatened, 'He can either give us a license or we’ll smash the fucking window out and drag him out.' Yet instead of punishment, these glass-breakers got promoted — because in the new ICE playbook, smashing windows is not only tactical, it’s a career booster. Apparently, normal arrest procedures are for the ‘weak,’ and sobbing kids or pregnant women? Just collateral glass shards.
