Sixty years after LBJ’s blockbuster Voting Rights Act, America’s playing sequel titled 'The Modern Power Grab.' Despite historic wins lifting Black voices from 'just a few in 1964' to 9,000 elected officials, GOP-led states double down on new voting barriers under flimsy fraud hype. As Marc Morial put it, this is 'a modern-day power grab,' while Texas gerrymanders Black voters like they're auctioning off pet rocks. The John R. Lewis bill promises some oversight, but welcome to the uphill climb — Senate filibuster style. Apparently, democracy now requires a scavenger hunt for ID, especially in 'Black Belt' zones. Party on, patriarchy!
