FDA's Secret Club: Banned Drug Factories Make American Comebacks!
In a plot twist worthy of a medical soap opera, Senators Rick Scott (R-Fla.) and Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) are calling out the FDA for quietly letting over 20 dodgy foreign factories, like Sun Pharma's Indian lab â infamous for 'blackish' contaminated vials and acid-drenched evidence â sneak banned meds into the U.S. since 2013. Despite a 2012 law demanding transparency, the FDA only whispered about these import exemptions in a single footnote of a 25-page report in 2024. FDA head Marty Makary, appointed by Trump and champion of 'radical transparency,' now faces urgent letters demanding lists, definitions, and market shares or else face a second Senate hearing â hurry, before another batch of anti-seizure drugs mysteriously vanishes!
