UK Tells Porn Fans: Prove You're Not 12, Please

In a move that put the phrase 'age verification' back on everyone’s brain for far less academic reasons, the U.K. law requiring porn websites to verify users’ ages officially turned on Friday. Now, those brave enough to browse can expect to 'prove they’re of legal age' before diving into their questionable bedtime viewing habits. Because apparently, asking 'Are you over 18?' with a stern nod just didn’t cut it anymore. The government’s new motto might as well be: 'Nothing says responsibility like a pop-up asking for your ID before your internet guilty pleasure.'
