Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi bravely rode the robot wave at the 'All-In' summit this September, confessing that self-driving Waymo cars in Atlanta and Austin are gearing up to steal human drivers' gigs in the next 10-15 years. Apparently, humans will still hang on for 5-7 years because the AI's pothole-aversion tech isnβt quite perfect yet. Meanwhile, Dara admits he has no 'neat answer' for the impending robot job apocalypse except expanding Uber's on-demand AI data labeling gigs. So soon, your human Uber driver might be a glorified captcha solver while your ride gets piloted by a sleek, rain-soaked Waymo bot lurking in your city.
