Atlanta’s Uber Users Ghost Human Drivers for Robotslave Rides

Atlanta’s Nate Galesic has made Uber’s human drivers feel like bad Tinder matches by canceling about 20 rides each time he wants a Waymo robotaxi. Since June, he’s scored 35 rides with these driverless cars, turning the ‘game’ of dodging real humans into a dedicated new sport. Despite Uber’s dozens of Waymos and plans to deploy ‘hundreds’ more, Atlanta’s driverless fleet still hates freeways and long trips. Galesic, an assistant director, says he’s thrilled to pass out safely en route home, unlike those judgmental human rideshare pilots. Uber/Waymo collab — confusing humans one algorithm at a time.
