Trump Prioritizes New Orleans Over Chicago Because Governors Ask Nicely
In a move that sounds like delegation made charmingly transactional, President Trump announced on Wednesday that he might parade the National Guard through New Orleans before Chicago—because, get this, Governor Jeff Landry said 'pretty please.' Trump, embodying crisis management or maybe just guest list politics, claimed it takes 'two weeks to straighten out crime' there, 'easier than D.C.' which he already forcibly federalized in August, shocking everyone. The National Guard is playing hopscotch between Democratic cities like Chicago, New York, Baltimore, all apparently waiting to RSVP. Meanwhile, the New Orleans Police, feeling the love, brag about lowered crime and federal hugs. Meanwhile, a judge reminded everyone that Guardians in L.A. playing law enforcement might be illegal.
