Trump Frees Santos, Rates Vietnam Fib Higher Than Fraud

In a move that screams plot twist over political plot, President Trump signed a commutation on Friday releasing former Rep. George Santos (R-N.Y.) who'd been serving an eight-ish year sentence for wire fraud and aggravated identity theft since April 2025. Apparently, Trump's Truth Social aka his digital courtroom, hosted a gladiator showdown where Santos’ wire fraud was outgunned by accusing Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) of 'MADE UP' Vietnam service—because, you know, fabricating war stories apparently outranks stealing identities. Trump applauded Santos for consistently voting Republican while escaping solitary confinement, wishing him 'good luck' as if that was part of the deal. And let's not forget the cameo: Trump’s presidential hobby includes pardoning like a dealer handing out free samples, notably freeing 1,500 Jan. 6 defendants. If pardoning was a sport, Trump might just be Olympic gold material.
