Trump's 34 Felonies: Presidential Immunity or Superhero Power-Up?

In a plot that even Netflix wouldn't greenlight, President Trump’s lawyers appealed his May 2023 Manhattan conviction on 34 felony counts related to hush money paid to an adult film star just before the 2016 election. Despite receiving a no-penalty sentence in January 2024, the 45th president wants that stain erased — because nothing says "leader of the free world" like trying to delete your own felony. Sullivan & Cromwell’s legal dream team argued Judge Juan Merchan should’ve recused himself, but he wasn’t buying that and refused multiple times. Adding insult to irony, they cited the Supreme Court’s 2024 immunity ruling that Trump claims invalidates the entire trial. Meanwhile, Alvin Bragg’s DA office has gone radio silent, likely busy binge-watching this soap opera. Oh, and Trump requested $230 million from the DOJ to settle some past investigations, because why have fewer zeros on your ledger when you can have more?
