October Jobs Data Ghosted Us, Fed Now Playing Blindfolded

In a plot twist worthy of a daytime soap, the government shutdown which recently ended has left October 2025's economic data lost forever like a sock in the dryer. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt blamed Democrats for permanently wrecking the Federal statistical system by nuking the October CPI and jobs reports. Senior fellow Guy Berger and economists at Goldman Sachs warned about a Year Zero level crisis where November's numbers are orphans, lacking October's context. Kevin Hassett spilled the tea on Fox News admitting no household survey means we'll never know October’s unemployment, forcing Fed policymakers to feel their way in the dark. Even the Bureau of Labor Statistics might just pull a Houdini and skip releases altogether, citing strained in-person price data collection that can't be backdated. The Friends of the BLS summed it up: October 2025 is America's 'permanent blind spot.' Meanwhile, September data might light the hallway soon, if it doesn’t trip over the already delayed piles.
