AI Assistants: Personalities Sold Separately, Humans in Charge

So apparently AI assistants like Siri, Alexa, and Google's whiz-kids don’t come packed with engraved personalities but are puppeteered by humans playing mad scientist behind the scenes. It’s 2024, and we’re still being told 'Hey, your virtual buddy's just following a pattern,' while engineers tweak every quip and vibe in a digital puppet show nobody asked for. Oh, I'm sorry, did I miss the part where AI suddenly became an improv actor trained by bureaucrats and focus groups instead of a futuristic wonder? So much for spontaneous robo-charm when it’s just a bunch of coders writing scripts shaped by the whims of customers and legal departments—like a corporate writer’s room with less coffee and more data sets.
