Jorn van Dijk, ex-Meta product wizard and cofounder of AI website builder Framer, rules that AI is basically 'slop' delivery lightning-fast, and designers better sharpen 'taste' or face the digital dumpster. Since launching Framer in Amsterdam in 2014 with Koen Bok, these two Sofa alumni who sold their first MacBook app company to Meta for breakfast cash, raked $100 million at a $2 billion valuation just this Augustāproof sloppy AI slop pays big. Jorn insists designers must go old school, doodling logos and wrestling with hard skills like AIās not just a cheat code. Meanwhile, despite video creation being as easy as ordering avocado toast, the world isn't suddenly flooded with Spielberg-level ads, so ease doesn't equal excellence yet.
