FDA’s Sneaky Cover-Up: Toxic Drugs Pay No Entry Fee

Turns out the FDA’s import ban on shoddy foreign drug factories is more like a ‘please come in, but do a little extra testing’ sign. ProPublica's investigation revealed the FDA exempted over 150 products, mostly from Indian factories, letting them slip past bans 'to fend off drug shortages.' Meanwhile, they neither regularly tested the drugs nor closely monitored freaky complaints about 'foul odor' or 'unexplained health problems.' They quietly hid the exemption list and shrugged off authenticity, with drugmakers mostly ghosting requests for comment. As one expert mystifyingly notes, 'it’s impossible to know whether people were harmed or how many.' Bravo, FDA—master jugglers of safety and secrecy.
