Amazon’s AI Shakeup: VP Walks Out Just Like His Just Walk Out Tech
In a plot twist worthy of a Silicon Valley sitcom, Dilip Kumar, the 22-year Amazon veteran who masterminded the Just Walk Out tech so famously confusing shoppers, is stepping down as AWS Applications VP this month—just after the eagerly anticipated launch of Quick Suite AI, AWS's AI agent overhaul. Kumar, who once advised Jeff Bezos himself (because who else would?), is handing the reins over to Swami Sivasubramanian, apparently the Yoda of 'Agentic AI.' This leadership shuffle joins a growing club of departed AI VPs, including Matt Wood and Vasi Philomin, leaving Amazon with more AI vacancies than a robot convention after a power outage.
