Montreal’s food scene is basically a United Nations mixer where poutine awkwardly chats with Trinidadian street food while French cuisine sips natural wine on the balcony. Valerie Silva's five-year epic quest to chart this chaotic buffet now welcomes TNT Palace’s Trinidadian street treats, Pasta Pooks serving talk-of-the-town Italian vibes, Les Filles Fattoush waving the Syrian flag at Jean-Talon Market, and Paul Patate’s signature spruce beer, because nothing says snack attack like booze made from pine trees. Meals range from wallet-friendly $10 mini feasts to $$$$ where mains fear the number 30 like it’s the Loch Ness monster of billing. Oh, and ordering an 'entrée' still means you’re starving for starters. Great success.
