Tesla's Robotaxis: Autonomy With a Driver's Butt Seat!

Tesla's new Robotaxi rollout in California is truly groundbreaking — with a licensed driver 'actively monitoring' while the car acts like it's on autopilot. According to the update, rides outside California are 'conducted autonomously,' but in California they're 'with a safety driver using FSD (Supervised)' because, naturally, 'Tesla doesn’t have permits to deploy AVs' fully yet. As Tesla's VP said, they're doing a launch 'without the person in the driver seat just to expedite' while juggling regulators. At least now everyone has a front-row seat to the 'safety driver' sitcom!
