Supreme Court Debates If Black Voters Are The New Wi-Fi Hackers

On Wednesday, the Supreme Court played voting rights Jenga with Louisiana's 2020 Census map, originally gerrymandered to ONE majority-Black district, sparking civil rights drama. After Black voters sued under the Voting Rights Act (yes, that 1965 classic), Louisiana drew a second mostly-Black district. Then, in a plot twist worthy of reality TV, a coalition of self-described 'non-African American' voters cried foul, claiming their precious voting power was diluted. Conservative justices debated whether race-based remedies are like expired milk: fine for a while but must eventually go away. Chief Justice Roberts and Justice Kavanaugh, who saved this legal milkshake just two years ago, suddenly got skeptical. Summer’s ruling will decide if the Voting Rights Act becomes vintage or Voldemort-level forbidden.
