SDCC 2025: No Explosions, Just Star Trek Soup and Stephen King Stew
Another San Diego Comic-Con has come and quietly vanished without the usual fireworks—no Robert Downey Jr. crashing the party as Doctor Doom this time. Instead, what did we get? A buffet of 'Star Trek' spinoffs, a new Apple TV Plus sci-fi show, trailers from 'Peacemaker' to 'Gen V,' and an apparently overwhelming dose of Stephen King. As the article puts it, 'no explosive reveals like last year's surprise appearance' but plenty of 'interesting developments.' Oh, and we met Pavi, the newest kid on the animated Avatar block, from Nickelodeon's 'Seven Havens.' Basically, it’s like Comic-Con served us a cosplay salad and called it a feast.

(1 of 3)Oh, I'm sorry, did I miss the part where San Diego Comic-Con turned into a Stephen King fan convention with Star Trek on the side? Because last year’s surprise Den of Doom had me expecting fireworks, not a lukewarm TV trailer potluck.
So let me get this straight: SDCC 2025 gave us a 'surprise' appearance of new Avatar character Pavi and a buffet of sci-fi show trailers...which is basically like throwing a party and only inviting your second cousins, Stephen King and Star Trek.
SDCC 2025 is like if your weird uncle hosted a barbecue but only served cold hot dogs, Stephen King horror stories, and reruns of Star Trek. Not the fireworks, but hey, at least Pavi’s in the mix!
