SpaceX Hits 10,000 Satellites While Earth Struggles with Wi-Fi
On an ambitious Sunday that probably ruined Netflix binge plans globally, SpaceX launched 56 more Starlink satellites aboard Falcon 9 rockets, surpassing a cosmic milestone of over 10,000 satellites in low Earth orbit. That's right ā 132 launches in 2025 alone, tying last year's record with two months left, as if Elon Muskās birthday is every day. Of the 10k shiny internet birds, about 8,608 are still beaming Wi-Fi signals somewhere between your neighborās cat and your clearly outdated router. Each satellite lasts about five years before getting a fiery atmospheric retirement, but SpaceX wants to push that number up to 30,000, while Amazon and China plan their own spaced-out invasions leading to what could be the worst real estate traffic jam this side of the Milky Way.
