On a Tuesday that was more dramatic than a reality show reunion, the Senate voted 52-48 to repeal President Trump's infamous Brazil tariffs. Led by Sen. Tim Kaine (D-Va.), the coalition included five Republicans—Lisa Murkowski, Susan Collins, Mitch McConnell, Rand Paul, and Thom Tillis—who apparently remembered how to bipartisanship. Meanwhile, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) slammed the door on even considering the measure, and Trump himself wouldn’t dream of signing it. This marks the third time Democrats staged the remix to end Trump’s trade policies, with previous votes targeting Canada tariffs in April getting similar star GOP support, except for McConnell missing one like it was a crossfit class.
