Pentagon Investigates Navy Vet Who Told Troops "No Thanks" to Trump

KEY POINTS

  • •The Pentagon announced Monday it is investigating Sen. Mark Kelly over serious misconduct related to a video urging troops to refuse unlawful orders.
  • •Kelly and five other Democrats released the video last week amidst Trump’s demands for their arrest and trial, calling the video 'seditious behavior.'
  • •Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer publicly condemned Trump’s threats and requested special protection for Kelly and Slotkin from Capitol Police.
  • •Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth criticized the Democrats’ video as reckless, warning soldiers must obey lawful commands to maintain military discipline.

On Monday, the Pentagon decided that Democratic Sen. Mark Kelly, the retired Navy test pilot who once outfoxed The Donald, deserves an investigation for 'serious misconduct' — which apparently includes starring in a viral 'disobey unlawful orders' video with colleagues Jason Crow, Elissa Slotkin, Maggie Goodlander, and more. This prompted Trump to demand they be 'ARRESTED and TRIED' like political versions of Ocean's Eleven minus the charm. Kelly fired back on X demanding an end to the 'execution, hanging, and mob threats,' while Chuck Schumer begged Capitol Police for VIP bodyguards because, apparently, politics now doubles as high-stakes mafia drama. Meanwhile, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth called their video 'despicable'—which is military-speak for 'please don’t throw a coup just yet.'
