Trump’s political machine is dumping over $2 million into microtargeting New Jersey and Virginia’s ‘off-year’ gubernatorial races, aka, the voter equivalent of trying to sell ice to Eskimos who already hate your podcast. Virginia gets a billion-dollar testing ground rep, but now it’s a digital voter petri dish for 2026. Meanwhile, New Jersey’s cash infusion beats the 2017 ghost campaign where Republicans ghosted voters harder than Tinder matches. Phone-banking, mailers, social media blitzes, and Trump tele-rallies with Glenn Youngkin and Jack Ciattarelli are all in play — because apparently, calling voters on the phone is still a thing in 2025. Polls show Republicans trailing, but hey, $1 million per state can’t hurt, right?
