Tom Homan, the guy who moonlighted as Trump’s border czar, dropped the jawer ‘Fentanyl should be a Weapon of Mass Destruction’ pitch at Axios’ Future of Defense Summit. He’s obsessed with fentanyl’s spanking new stats: 73,000 deaths annually and the DEA seizing 380 million supposed lethal doses in 2024, because apparently drug smugglers are the Kardashians of ‘make money, not kill customers.’ DHS flirted with WMD-ing fentanyl since 2019, but bills like Rep. Lauren Boebert's failed to make that official. Meanwhile, 2024 overdose deaths dropped 26.9% from 110,037 in 2023 — progress! But hey, Trump’s still pushing grisly ads like he’s directing a horror flick.
