Samsung’s latest One UI 8 update has pulled the ultimate party pooper move by disabling bootloader unlocking outside the US, ending an era of phone customizing freedom. The new code line 'androidboot.other.locked=1' basically screams 'Nope, you’re locked!' Before this update, unlocked bootloaders enabled users to install custom software on their devices — true phone fanatics’ dream. Now, Samsung’s lock-down spreads beyond the US, where this restriction has been long in place. At least now, Samsung owners get a shiny, tamper-proof phone, because who needs control over their own device anyway? 'Everything happens for a reason!' This is SO exciting!
