In a spectacular tribute to vintage aviation, a 49-year-old Antonov An-24 crashed in Russia's Amur region, sadly killing all 49 on board. This aircraft, described by state media as having its 'service life extended to 2036,' boasted a resume of previous 'incidents,' including rolling off a runway and clipping a lightning pole. According to Angara Airlines' deputy CEO, 'We are today working in a market in which there are no alternatives to the An-24 and An-26.' Although flying conditions were good and no distress calls sent, authorities pledge to launch a criminal probe focused on crew error.
