KEY POINTS
- •Rob Reiner and his wife Michele were found dead in Los Angeles in December 2025, shocking the Hollywood community.
- •Their son, Nick Reiner, was arrested Monday on murder charges connected to their deaths, intensifying family tragedy.
- •Nick and Rob collaborated on the 2016 film 'Being Charlie,' a drama about Nick's drug addiction struggles.
In a Hollywood plot twist that no scriptwriter would dare pitch, legendary director Rob Reiner and wife Michele Singer Reiner died suddenly in Los Angeles, only to have their son Nick Reiner arrested for their deaths shortly after. The twisted irony? Nick co-created 'Being Charlie,' a painfully earnest 2016 indie flick about his own four-year drug rehab stint and addiction woes, directed by Dad Rob, and released in a luxurious run of four theaters for one week. Back in 2016 at TIFF, they called the movie a 'corrective emotional experience,' apparently not knowing life had a darker sequel planned courtesy of their own family saga.
