Just 54% of Americans now drink alcohol — the lowest mark in 86 years, driven mainly by a steep 19-point plunge among Republicans, from 65% in 2023 to just 46% in 2025. Gallup’s shocking poll notes 'an all-time high of 53%' of folks saying moderate drinking is unhealthy, with Republicans oddly less convinced it's bad for them (44%) than Democrats (58%). Trump’s teetotaling style might be rubbing off; the article reminds us he avoids alcohol 'due to the struggles of his late brother.' Meanwhile, Silicon Valley’s sober startup founders can finally say #NoBoozeNoBillion.
