Wasp Nest Goes Nuclear: Buzzkill at DOE Site
Photo by Mathew Schwartz on Unsplash
In a stunning cameo for radioactive irony, a wasp nest was discovered at a U.S. Department of Energy facility in South Carolina, 'once involved in the production of parts for nuclear weapons.' Because why wouldn't the insects want a bit of radioactive flair for their humble abode? Apparently, these wasps arenāt just aggressive with stingers but countertops too, choosing a nesting spot near nuclear waste storage. At this rate, even the wasps are stepping up their gameāin radiation and attitude. A new corporate sponsor for mutant superhero costumes, perhaps?
