In a plot twist worthy of a Kafka novel, Kyiv residents protested Zelenskyy’s brilliant idea to 'strip two key anti-corruption bodies of their independence'—which sounds like a reform powered by a reality TV villain. The Guardian’s Luke Harding quoted furious locals during Ukraine’s first major anti-government protests in three years, who clearly prefer corruption with a side of democracy. Apparently, Zelenskyy has since backtracked faster than a politician at a lie detector test.
