The Tea app, where over 4.6 million women anonymously review men, had a breach that wasn’t just a leak—it was a flood. A security researcher accessed 'more than 1.1 million private messages,' including 'intimate' topics like divorce, abortion, and cheating. The company's spokesperson admitted, 'some direct messages (DMs) were accessed,' revealing they missed securing Firebase data while bragging their own code was 'very secure.' Now, Tea is offline, offering 'free identity protection services,' proving even in tech, privacy sometimes gets brewed to be as weak as bad tea.
