Mushrooms DJ Now: $149 Pocket Synther Plants Your Jam

Instruo, a Glasgow modular synth company, teamed up with viral bio-hacker artist Modern Biology—known for controlling synths with mushrooms on TikTok—to birth the Pocket Scion: a $149 gadget that turns flora and skin biofeedback into MIDI magic. This pocket-sized wizard transmutes plant vibes into synth notes, replacing the need for a Eurorack that costs more than your rent. Featuring four built-in sound engines and compatibility with Max/MSP and Unreal Engine, it’s basically a portable plant rave machine. After selling out faster than cheap concert tickets, new stock is ‘early next week,’ according to retailer Control Voltage. Mushroom DJs unite!
