Texas Cheats, California Plots Revenge: Political WrestleMania

In what Vox calls 'a blatant power play,' Texas GOP lawmakers have decided redistricting is so last decade and are redrawing maps mid-2025 to snag more 2026 seats, hoping to 'win a bigger Republican majority.' Not to be outdone, California's Gov. Gavin Newsom threatens to respond with 'a state referendum or legislation to redraw districts' boosting Democrats by as many as seven seats. Democrats face 'steep legal and political obstacles,' with many preferring norms over payback. Meanwhile, Republicans laugh from Ohio to Missouri, eager to 'squeeze out' even more seats. Raw political warfare, with a hint of daycare tantrums.
