Not to be outdone, California's Gov. Gavin Newsom threatens to respond with 'a state referendum or legislation to redraw districts' boosting Democrats by as many as seven seats. Democrats face 'steep legal and political obstacles,' with many preferring norms over payback. Meanwhile, Republicans laugh from Ohio to Missouri, eager to 'squeeze out' even more seats. Raw political warfare, with a hint of daycare tantrums.
