Pinterest’s AI Dial: Because Who Doesn’t Want AI Pin Overload?

In a dazzling display of technological shrugging, Pinterest launched an "AI dialer" in October 2025, allowing users to 'dial down the AI' in their feeds—because battling a Pinfestation wasn’t tricky enough. Targeting categories like beauty, art, fashion, and home decor, this tool only works on 'eligible image Pins,' which roughly translates to 'some of them, maybe.' Android and desktop users already got the feature, while poor iPhone users will wait weeks, presumably in growing suspense. Way back in May, Pinterest debuted its barely visible 'AI modified' label—now being 'made more noticeable,' secrecy intact. In the relentless war of humans versus AI-generated glam, Pinterest basically handed us a volume knob to turn down the robot spice, but promised that your feed won’t be AI-free anytime soon. Yes, that’s progress.
