On October 6, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth decreed from Marine Corps Base Quantico that all American military personnel must watch or read his speech on warrior ethos by October 31, apparently threatening mass beardlessness and fat-shaming into compliance. With a mandatory summit recently gathering 800 generals and admirals to rebrand the Pentagon from 'woke department' to 'ruthless fitness HQ,' Hegseth banned 'beardos' outside special forces, ordered daily PT and biannual fitness tests, and diss’ed fat troops and generals alike. The memo dropped along with 11 directives axing pointless trainings, preserving 'traditional' male combat standards, and gently suggesting anyone uncomfortable should just resign—because nothing says motivation like public HR threats.
