On September 5, 2025, in what could only be described as a naval soap opera, two Venezuelan F-16 fighter jets decided to photobomb the USS Jason Dunham, a guided-missile destroyer moonlighting as a drug-busting wannabe celebrity. The Pentagon labeled this high-stakes flyover a 'highly provocative move' designed to mess up U.S. counter narco-terrorism operations, led by Trump’s flamboyant flotilla off Venezuela’s coast. This comes barely 48 hours after Trump announced that his Caribbean strike took out 11 supposed Tren de Aragua narcoterrorists, possibly inspired by his clear mix of regime change ambitions with an impromptu game of naval chicken. Meanwhile, Pentagon spokespeople perfected their art of ghosting Axios’ requests, leaving the world hanging like forgotten DMs.
