In September 2025, Oregon and Portland bravely stepped into the ring against President Trump’s heavy artillery plans, sued over throwing 200 Oregon National Guard troops into the Democrat stronghold for a 60-day 'Full Force' party. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth signed off on this 'patently unlawful' memo—sounds like a business venture run by a rogue intern. White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson hailed it as a surefire peace treaty despite months-long protests outside an ICE facility where fewer than 30 protesters showed up lately, and zero arrests since mid-June. Local leaders called the feds 'provocative,' warning their swoop stirred a hornet’s nest more than a safety net. Trump’s troop-tour also blasted through DC and LA, threatening New Orleans and Chicago too, apparently on a mission to confuse National Guard with crowd control. Oregon’s top legal eagle Dan Rayfield shared the lawsuit’s spicy vibe the very next day.
