Meta’s Bug-Eyed Oakley Glasses: Spy Tech or Insect Impersonators?

Meta’s latest AI-infused eyewear collaboration with Oakley isn't subtle about making you look like a confused cricket with their 'warm grey' (aka blinding white) frames and shiny gold lenses. Promised are 'performance glasses' with longer battery life and a 12MP camera shooting 3K video, yet the price hikes from $300+ to nearly $400 raise eyebrows about value. Despite boasting tech to 'alert users when photos are blurry or if something like your hair or a hat blocks what you capture,' testers found the visor on their helmets photobombing every shot. So much for seamless spy vibes.
