Nvidia's Jensen Huang: Billionaire CEO Diluted Into Ninth Place Sauce
Meet Jensen Huang, Nvidia's cofounder and CEO since 1993, rocking a black leather jacket on stage at Computex 2025 in Taipei. Despite Nvidia reigning as the worldās most valuable companyāworth more than $3 trillionāHuang only sits 10th richest with $147B. Why? Dilution! He went from holding 12.8% pre-IPO in 1999 (worth $500B today!) down to just around 4% now because Nvidia issued shares like Oprah giving out cars ($14B in stock comp as of July 27). Meanwhile, Warren Buffett sneaked up to $148B with a quarter of Nvidia's valuation, because he owns 14% of Berkshire Hathaway. Elon Musk's $383B empire is weirdly 40% smaller in combined Tesla and SpaceX value than Nvidia, yet he leads thanks to a proposed $1 trillion pay package. Huang also casually sold $1B worth of shares this year, probably to buy a rare leather jacket collection or just to remind Wall Street he's cool. Dilution award goes to Nvidia's 14-fold increase in shares from 1.7B to 23B since IPOāa tech CEO's nightmare buffet. So enjoy this wild tale of billionaire math where owning less is the new owning more!
