Microsoft’s controversial Recall feature is like having a nosy neighbor installed inside your PC that ‘automatically screenshots nearly everything.’ Developers like Signal call it a 'glaring omission' that leaves no privacy refuge, while AdGuard warns, 'The very idea of background screen captures is unsettling.' Even the privacy champion Brave has jumped on the blockade bandwagon to protect users from surprise screenshots of private chats or credit card entries. Apparently, Microsoft thinks users want AI agents stalking their screens more than granular privacy controls—a strategy with developers saying, essentially, ‘Thanks but no screenshots.’
