Lyft + Baidu: Europe’s Getting Robotaxis, Humans Optional
In a plot twist Elon Musk probably sees in his Tesla Autopilot nightmares, Lyft and Baidu are launching 'Apollo Go' robotaxis across Europe starting 2026, beginning with the UK and Germany. Baidu’s CEO, Robin Li, proudly stated, 'By integrating Baidu’s cutting-edge autonomous driving technology with Lyft’s platform reach and operational expertise, we’re excited to deliver safer, greener, and more efficient mobility solutions.' Meanwhile, Lyft says these robo-rides promise to bring 'safety, reliability, and privacy' to millions of Europeans—because nothing screams privacy like sharing a ride with a robot that’s probably Googling your playlist.
