Loni Anderson, famed enough to make publicists start sentences with her name, has died 'following a prolonged illness' at a Los Angeles hospital, according to Cheryl J. Kagan, her longtime publicist. The phrase 'prolonged illness' here plays the classic Hollywood code for 'we're out of elegant euphemisms and you’re just gonna have to Google it now.' Anderson’s exit stage left leaves fans wondering if she was on a mysterious, centuries-long Netflix binge or just tired of being asked "what’s next?" Whatever it was, it officially closed the curtain in LA.
