Ex-Cop’s Manslaughter Sentence: Community Service, Not Alcatraz

Kristian White, a former NSW police officer, was convicted of manslaughter for the death of 95-year-old Clare Nowland and given a two-year good behaviour bond plus community service. Despite NSW prosecutors appealing, the judges ruled the sentence 'albeit lenient, was not manifestly inadequate.' So, White gets to trade prison bars for community chores, because apparently, handling seniors is more about rehab than lockup.
