Klarna IPO Hits $15B While Employees Emoji-Revolt Rages
Klarna, the Swedish fintech superstar hitting a $15 billion IPO valuation with a $40-per-share debut on the NYSE, faces an epic emoji mutiny from around 3,000 employees refusing to return to office at least three days a week. Instead of cheers, Klarna got 341 sad faces, 131 sad cats, and 73 clowns signaling 'We’d rather not' — plus a VIP tribute to 'Hide the Pain Harold' with 43 emojis, and 62 Homer Simpsons awkwardly backing into bushes. Losses surged to $52 million last quarter despite $823 million revenue growth, and the CEO’s wife made $16 million from climate nonprofits linked to Klarna. Internal Slack comments disabled; apparently emojis speak louder than words.
